Meta's AI game-building tools hammered Unity while a Synopsys upgrade lifted the design-software rung and Knightscope sank on dilution.

Serve Robotics (SERV) led the vertical, up 4.6% to $4.51, but with no verified same-day catalyst — a momentum move in a volatile, low-priced name rather than a fresh contract or print. Serve sits on the last-mile autonomy edge the vertical maps, where sidewalk-delivery volumes ride on Uber demand, but no Sept 23–25 release backs the gain. It topped the basket on a session whose real news sat elsewhere.

Knightscope (KSCP) was the laggard, down 8.1% to $0.90, on dilution: the security-robot maker expanded its at-the-market equity program with H.C. Wainwright, deepening the overhang on a sub-$1 stock that shareholders had just cleared to enlarge its incentive-share pool. It's a balance-sheet story on a distressed small cap, not a signal on autonomous-security demand.

The session's real driver hit the software rung. Unity (U) fell 6.1% to $41.42 after Meta unveiled natural-language AI game-creation tools — "Horizon Create" and "Horizon Studio" — at its Connect event, read as lowering the barrier to entry against Unity's engine and dragging the broader gaming complex lower. On the other side, Synopsys (SNPS) rose 2.9% to $424.91 after BNP Paribas upgraded it to Neutral ahead of its Sept 30 investor day, flagging an expanded TSMC collaboration on certified design flows and agentic-AI engineering — the EDA-and-design chokepoint that gates every robotics SoC. The actuator-and-reducer rung was soft on thin ADR liquidity and yen effects rather than headlines: Nabtesco (NCTKY) −6.3% to $15.00 and Nidec (NJDCY) −3.5% to $3.65, even as Nidec's Tokyo ordinary line firmed. Ambarella (AMBA) +3.3% to $69.86 carried the vision-and-edge-AI rung and Moog (MOG.A) +2.1% to $382.75 held on defense-motion strength.

The catalysts ahead are Tesla- and conference-heavy. Synopsys's Sept 30 investor day is the near-term design-tools read, and Tesla's Oct 1 Roadster reveal is being watched mainly for Optimus commentary; Tesla Q3 deliveries land Oct 2 and its earnings call, expected around Oct 21, should update the Optimus Gen-3 production timeline — the direct read-through to the harmonic-drive and reducer names (Nabtesco, Nidec, Harmonic Drive). RoboBusiness (Santa Clara, Oct 19–21) is the next industry showcase, China's rare-earth export-control suspension expires Nov 10, and the DFARS ban on Chinese-melted NdFeB and SmCo magnets in defense systems takes effect Jan 1, 2027 — the magnet chokepoint underneath every actuator in the map.
