Sensor and power-IC names drove the robotics map on July 9 — Allegro +11.5% on twin target hikes — while Japanese precision-bearing ADRs lagged.

Allegro MicroSystems (ALGM) surged 11.5% to $57.38, the robotics basket's top gainer, after Mizuho lifted its target to $67 from $54 and TD Cowen to $70 from $55, both citing stronger demand for power and magnetic-sensing semiconductors from AI datacenters and autos. Allegro sits at the motion- and current-sensing chokepoint — the nervous system that closes the loop in every actuator and drive — and the re-rating reflects that its content rides both the datacenter and the humanoid build-out. It reports fiscal Q1 2027 on July 30.

NSK (NPSKY) fell 3.7% to $14.24, the laggard as the Japanese precision-motion ADRs lagged the US chip and actuator rally. NSK holds part of the bearing-and-reducer chokepoint — the geared, load-bearing hardware a humanoid can't move without — so its slip against a rising basket flags the divergence between US semiconductor content, which the market is paying up for, and the Japanese mechanical layer, which it is not. NSK reports fiscal Q1 on August 3.

US semis and enablers led. Lattice (LSCC) +5.3% to $139.53, Enovix (ENVX) +5.4%, Ambarella (AMBA) +4.9% to $78.38, STMicroelectronics (STM) +4.2% to $71.39, and Symbotic (SYM) +3.5% to $43.15; Tesla (TSLA) +3.2% to $406.55 and Unity (U) +4.3%. The Japanese motion complex was split — FANUC (FANUY) +4.3%, Yaskawa (YASKY) +3.7% and THK (THKLY) +4.3% rose even as NSK fell. The rare-earth magnet line, critical to every servo, diverged too: USA Rare Earth (USAR) +2.3% and Energy Fuels (UUUU) +2.7%, but MP Materials (MP) −2.4% to $51.71.

A heavy earnings run begins. Tesla reports July 22 (with Optimus commentary in focus), Teradyne July 28, and Allegro and MP Materials July 30. NSK's Q1 lands August 3, Cognex August 5, and Symbotic and Harmonic Drive Systems August 6. The estimated Optimus Gen 3 reveal and low-volume production start is pencilled for around August 1 — the single event most likely to reprice the humanoid-supply-chain names in this basket.
