Tesla jumped 6.7% on its Miami robotaxi launch, lifting the actuation-and-sensing chokepoint, while microcap Knightscope was the basket laggard at −6.9%.

Tesla (TSLA) rose 6.7% to $419.77, the robotics basket's biggest gainer, after launching an unsupervised robotaxi service in Miami — a concrete step in the autonomy rollout that also underwrites the Optimus program. On this map Tesla sits on the actuators-and-motors and force/tactile-sensing chokepoints: Optimus is a bet that Tesla can vertically integrate the frameless motors, actuators and sensing the rest of the industry buys from specialists. The robotaxi headline is a self-driving story, but it feeds the same perception-and-actuation stack, and it carried the group on a day the broader S&P added 0.7%.

The laggard was Knightscope (KSCP), down 6.9% to $1.90, a speculative security-robot platform name with no company-specific catalyst — a sub-$2 microcap drifting lower on thin volume while the marquee names ran. Knightscope sits on the platforms-and-integrators node, the crowded, capital-hungry end of the map where standalone economics are hardest; its slide is a reminder that chokepoint value has mostly accrued to component and integration leaders, not the small-cap platform stories.

Elsewhere the map was mixed-to-green. Symbotic (SYM) rose 4.0% on the platforms-and-integrators node and STMicroelectronics (STM) 4.4% on the sensing chokepoint, riding the same semiconductor rebound lifting the compute complex. The Japanese motion-control names — the strain-wave-gear and frameless-motor specialists that anchor the precision chokepoints — were broadly firmer on their own sessions, though their thin US shadow lines make precise prints unreliable and are best read qualitatively. Hyundai Motor (005380.KS), the basket's private-giants proxy, fell 4.5% in Seoul.

The robotics calendar is dominated by Tesla. Q2 earnings land July 22, but the marquee event is the estimated Optimus Gen 3 reveal and low-volume production start pencilled for around August 1 — the single hardest catalyst for the actuators-and-sensing chokepoints. Around it: Teradyne (July 28) and Cognex (August 5) on the automation-test and vision nodes, Nabtesco's H1 results (July 31) for the strain-wave-gear chokepoint, and MP Materials (July 30) on the rare-earth-magnet node.
